The Bog of Allen Nature Centre is being developed by the Irish Peatland Conservation Council (IPCC) as an international centre for peatland education, conservation and research. IPCC purchased the property in 2003 and have developed a 10 year plan towards the achievement of our goal. During your visit you will see the latest project that is being tackled and it will be possible for you to meet the staff and volunteers working in the centre. The centre is open all year round Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm for individual, school and special interest visits. Special week end openingS include the last sunday in May, July and November from 12noon to 4pm. School Visits April to October each year. If you have a group who wish to visit at weekends please contact IPCC directly and we will be happy to make an arrangement with you.
