The Protection status codes (and year in which they were established, where appropriate) are ASI - Area of Scientific Interest: ASSI - Area of Special Scientific Interest; CPS - Country Parks; DOE - Department of the Environment Property; FNR - Forest Nature Reserve; NTR National Trust Reserve; UWT = Ulster Wildlife Trust; NNR - National Nature Reserve; SPA - Special Protection Area; ESA - Environmentally Sensitive Area; RAM - Ramsar Site; SAC - Special Area for Conservation.
