Here are a number of suggestions
for exploring the bog you visit using the senses to guide you.
1 Write at least five words to describe the bog under the
headings in the table below:

2 Use the words in the table above to write a free association
of words, a poem, descriptive paragraph or a bog memory.
3 Write a Japanese nature poem or Haiku. It consists of three
lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has seven
and the third has 5 syllables. Follow these instructions to write
a haiku.
a) Choose an object on the bog to write about and give it a name.

d) Why did you choose it? _____________________________________
e) Go back over all your answers and underline all the syllables
in them.
f) Arrange the syllables as follows: Line 1 - 5 syllables. Line
2 - 7 syllables. Line 3 - 5 syllables.
