Bogs
are a finite resource which must be used wisely. Case studies
presented in this module will help students investigate the issues
surrounding the development and conservation of bogs. The use
of peat particularly in gardening is a theme that can be explored
to show students how lifestyles can harmonise with conservation
and wise use principles. A field studies investigation of the
effects of turf cutting on bogs is provided.
