SITE NAME: __________________________ DATE OF VISIT: ___________________ RECORDED BY: _______________________

The most basic ecological survey of a bog involves recording a species list for the site. Use the bog plant and bog pool bug dials provided in the resources section of this web site to assist with this activity. In addition to writing the names of the species recorded please indicate their relative abundance - whether occasional, common or abundant - on the site using the letters provided.

Flora
Indicate whether each species is:
O Occasional (covers less than 20% of the site)
C Common (covers between 21-50% of the site)
A Abundant (plant dominates in the
vegetation covering more than 50%)

Fauna
Indicate whether each species is:
O Occasional (less than 5 individuals)
C Common (between 6 and 20 individuals)
A Abundant (21 or more individuals)
