In the formulation of the Bogs and Fens of Ireland Conservation Plan 2005, the IPCC have identified issues likely to affect the success of such a strategy. Twenty three issues have been identified. These are the main action areas addressed in the IPCC's campaign to protect peatlands in Ireland. Each issue opens with background information on the topic and how it relates to peatlands. This is followed by a general objective set by IPCC in relation to the issue and the specific actions that need to be undertaken to achieve the objective.
