Hop to It! - Irish Frog Survey

Here is a map resulting from all records received as part of the Hop to It Irish Frog Survey 2003. Each red dot represents the presence of the frog within that particular 10km square. 74 of these squares had no previously published records, showing that this survey greatly extended the knowledge of the frog in Ireland.

To see the results maps of the Hop to It Frog Survey 2003 on a county by county basis dowload a results pdf file here. Size 410 kb. Then save or print your own copy.

Map of the distribution of The Common Frog in Ireland

Distribution of the Common Frog based on all the main studies that have taken place in Ireland on frogs. From the Hop to It Frog Surveys 1997 & 2003; NíLamhna (1979); Marnell (1997); Russ (2001).

Each dot corresponds to the presence of a frog within a 10km2 area.

While frogs have been recorded in every county in Ireland, there are still some areas where there are no records or where records are sparse.
