COMPOSTING DIY WEB SITE RUNS
THE RACE AGAINST WASTE

The Irish Peatland Conservation Council's new Composting and Wildlife
Gardening web site is to be officially launched by the Minister for the
Environment and Local Government, Martin Cullen. The launch will take place
at the 4th Annual Composting Seminar on 6th May 2004 organised by Cre in the
Tullamore Court Hotel. The new web site will be hosted at www.ipcc.ie and it
provides DIY skills on home composting as well as promoting awareness of how
peat-free gardening helps to conserve peatlands. "Home composting is a very
effective way to reduce waste and recycle organic matter into a useful
resource - compost" says Caroline Hurley of the Irish Peatland Conservation
Council. The new web site also contains trouble shooting ideas for those
with worm bin or compost bin problems, frequently asked questions, fact
sheets on wildlife gardening and composting courses to attend this year.

www.ipcc.ie is being sponsored by the Department of the Environment, Dublin
City Council, South Dublin County Council, Dunlaoghaire-Rathdown Council and
Fingal Council as part of the Race Against Waste and the Dublin Waste
Management initiatives.

This web site will help us all to win the Race Against Waste.
