Forget about a white Christmas, how about a green Christmas! If you would like to do your bit for the environment and more specifically for the last few remaining wild Irish boglands - why not consider a Christmas gift from the Irish Peatland Conservation Council's Enviro Shop.
Run by the IPCC the Enviro Shop has a wonderful range of Christmas cards, calendars, diaries, and decorations, some of which are exclusive to the shop.
To the customer, the Enviro Shop is a treasure trove of environmentally- friendly gift ideas. Our extensive range includes unbleached cotton bag tidies to keep plastic bags tidy and ready to re-use, butterfly print t-towels and aprons, bird postcard sets, natural handcare products for gardeners and Celtic theme gifts such as our stunning Celtic wall mirror and wall clock. A broad range of books covering topics such as wildlife, handicrafts and cookery as well as the IPCC's own publications are available from the shop. Our kids corner is full of fun gift ideas including face painting kits, glow in the dark bug sets, window pictures and bird or butterfly sticker books.
The IPCC has conducted the longest running environmental campaign in Ireland to save Ireland's vanishing raised bogs, and over the past fifteen years they have been changing attitudes and lobbying for changes in legislation to protect some of our wild bogs.
To ease the burden, literally, of Christmas shopping and for those of us who want to avoid the festive crush, the IPCC have a colourful Save the Bogs Gift catalogue available (free) upon request. The catalogue contains 65 great gift ideas plus 20 packs of Christmas cards and calendars to choose from.
