All About Compost Courses

For release 15th September 2003

To celebrate National Recycling Week from the 29th September to the 6th
October, IPCC in liaison with Local Authorities are offering five All About
Compost Workshops.

Each workshop will run from 10am to 1pm each day at the venues listed below.
Participants will be shown how to recycle organic waste generated at home to
produce garden compost. Demonstrations of how to set up worm bins, compost
cones and make leaf mould from autumn leaves will be a feature of the work
shops. Free resource books and competitions to enter on the day. The courses
are free but booking is essential as places are limited. Beginners welcome.

These courses are part of the Local Environment Partnership Scheme between
IPCC and the Local Authorities.

Further courses are planned later this year in liaison with the following
local authorities: Westmeath, North Tipperary, Clare, Cork City, Mayo and
Meath.
