Explorer Day on Fenor Bog, Co. WaterfordFor Release 25th May 1999 Make new friends and have a fun time exploring the magic of Fenor bog with the Irish Peatland Conservation Council on our Explorer Day at Fenor Bog, Fenor Village, Co. Waterford on Sunday, May 30th at 12 noon. Fenor Bog is located behind the Church in Fenor Village, 3 miles west of Tramore on the Dungarvan Road (T63). The IPCC have a special adventure planned for participants to experience wildlife and bogs. There will be the opportunity on this Explorer Day to see the 100 or more species of flora and fauna found on Fenor bog and to discover why Fenor Bog is so special. For children we will show them how to make their own dream catchers inspired by the beauty of Fenor Bog. It will be a lovely family day out. Please bring a picnic lunch, wear warm clothing and wellingtons or bring along a change of shoes. There is car parking adjacent to the Fenor Church. Fenor Bog was recently purchased for conservation by the Irish Peatland Conservation Council and Móin Fhionnúrach Development Limited. It is to be declared a National Nature Reserve because of its importance to the heritage of Ireland. The Explorer Day is free and all are welcome.
