Join our Workshops on Composting with Worm Bins

Wednesday 15 May 2002 - 10am-2pm, Ringsend, Dublin 4

Saturday 18 May 2002 - 10am-2pm, Finglas, Dublin 11

Friday 24 May 2002 - 10am-2pm, ENFO Centre, Dublin 2.

Three DIY composting workshops aim to provide participants with practical
know how on how to set up and manage a worm composting scheme in their own
home or community. Courses will also promote IPCC's peat-free garden
campaign which aims to keep peat in the bog and encourage home composting.

All participants will receive the components of a worm bin to set up at
home.

The workshops are being run jointly by the Irish Wildlife Trust and Irish
Peatland Conservation Council

These workshops are funded by Dublin City Council under the Department of
Environment Environmental Partnership Fund

1. Environmental benefits of reducing our weekly waste - Irish Wildlife
Trust

2. Reducing our dependence on peat - Irish Peatland Conservation Council

3. Demonstration - how to set up and use a domestic worm composting bins -
Irish Peatland Conservation Council

4. Questions and Answers - Common problems and how to get on-going help -
Irish Peatland Conservation Council

5. Worm composting starter-kits: each participant will be given a
vermicomposting system to take away with them after the course, so transport
arrangement need to be considered by participants.
