IPCC RUNS SUCCESSFUL COMPOSTING COURSE IN TALLAGHT

For release 5 March 2003

Yesterday saw IPCC run its first composting and peat-free gardening course
of the year. The course was held on behalf of South Dublin County Council
in the County Buildings in Tallaght.

It was a tremendous success and was attended by 20 representatives from different schools in the area who all want to participate in the Green Schools Programme. Each of these schools
have already received a composting bin from South Dublin County Council, so
yesterday was the perfect opportunity for them to learn how to use it properly.

The course also covered the issues of waste, the importance of our boglands and why not to use peat in the garden, a demonstration on how to set up a worm bin and a session on gardening for
wildlife.

For more information on IPCC's composting course, please contact Noreen
McLoughlin, (01) 8722397, info@ipcc.ie.
