Who WILL look after the bogs

For immediate release 1 October 1995

Wills How to Make and Change Them - this is the title of a handy guide just published by the Irish Peatland Conservation Council (see Editor's note 1).

With more than 72% of Irish people dying without making a Will, the problems created for loved ones when a Will is missing are all too common and could so easily be avoided.

The booklet gives down to earth advice about making a will and how you can use it to help protect bogs and their wildlife. It's full of practical tips, a handy checklist for documenting your assets plus the wording you will need if you want to leave a bequest or add a codicil to a will. There is also a practical glossary of legal terms.

As IPCC's Wills Advisor Dr. Peter Foss says "One of the things we enjoy in our lifetime is nature and unspoilt environments. In making a Will we can help safeguard these places for our children's children. Making a bequest to IPCC not only provides much needed support for the good work being done to Save the Bogs - but can also reduce the tax burden on relatives who are the main beneficiaries under a most Wills".

An easy-to-read guide - the IPCC's Wills - How to make and change them - should be on everyone's reading list during October which is national Wills month.
