IPCC Bogland Reserve: Scragh Bog Nature Reserve, Co. Westmeath

An area of saw sedge reed bed (Cladium mariscus) on the surface of Scragh Bog, Co Westmeath. This particular vegetation type is extremely rare and has been prioritised for conservation under the European Habitats Directive. Patches of willow woodland can be seen in the background.
