IPCC Bogland Reserve: Sheheree Bog Nature Reserve, Co. Kerry

Sheheree Bog, Co Kerry is located in a shallow depression. The bog is surrounded by farmland which is mainly used for pasture. The transition from bog to mineral soil is called the lagg and is still relatively natural at Sheheree in contrast to many other bog in Ireland which have suffered marginal drainage and turf cutting.
