A Legacy Gift to Protect the Bogs . . . .

Many people see their Will as an opportunity of making a special and memorable gesture. Naturally it is vitally important for everyone with a family to see that they are properly provided for, but there is another way in which a Will can hand on something precious.

One of the things we enjoy in our lifetime is nature and unspoilt environments. In making a Will we can help to safeguard these wild unspoilt places for our children's children.

Making a Will is also one of the easiest things we can all do, though 'home-made' versions, however well intentioned, should be avoided. Making a Will with the help of a professional adviser or Solicitor ensures that your wishes for the future are secured.

Your first concerns should be for protecting your loved ones, but you can also help protect the peatland heritage of Ireland by remembering the Irish Peatland Conservation Council in your Will. Indeed making a bequest to a charitable cause may often reduce the tax burden for your family and in no way affect the benefits they can receive from you.

The Irish Peatland Conservation Council is a voluntary, charitable body directly involved in safeguarding the natural peatland heritage of Ireland through a range of campaigning activities. The IPCC is committed to ensuring that the whole range of wildlife found on Irish peatlands today is still here for our children to enjoy in years to come.

Being a registered charity, the IPCC is exempt from Capital Acquisitions and Probate Tax on benefits received by us, so your entire bequest can be of immense practical value.

Unless requested otherwise, all bequests to the Irish Peatland Conservation Council are publicly acknowledged.

Our Wills booklet is not a step-by-step legal guide but it will answer some of the basic questions you might have. Since making a Will is a very important matter, our first recommendation to you is to seek the advice of a solicitor. Making a Will is rarely the expensive outlay many seem to think. The fee for a standard Will could be as little as Euro 50.

If you have already made a Will, it is a simple matter to make additional bequest by adding a Codicil.

Should you decide to make a bequest to the IPCC, we thank you most sincerely for the real concern you have shown in helping us protect and preserve a part of our natural heritage. The fight to protect our countryside, and the wildlife for whom it is home, will continue long into the future.

If you have any further queries after reading the brochure, about either the IPCC's work or making a Will, and to request your complimentary copy of our booklet "Wills How to Make and Change Them" please contact IPCC on Tel. 045 860133, or by e-mail by clicking here.

A Gift in memory. . .

A very special way to commemorate
the life of a friend or loved one. . .

IPCC, with its commitment to securing a better a future for Ireland's wetlands and their wildlife, is the natural choice when selecting a charity for remembrance.

Whenever someone makes a gift to IPCC's Save the Bogs Campaign in memory of a friend, relative or loved one, we send the donor or family our sincere thanks. The name is also entered in our annual accounts and publicly acknowledged on these web pages.

Your In Memory gifts can be made directly to IPCC. All donations, no matter how small, are gratefully received, acknowledged and put to good use.
