Uganda

Uganda is a major peatland area within Africa. Five main peatland types are found including blanket peats; raised peatlands; valley peatlands; fens and swamps. The first 3 types are found only at high altitude localities, with the last two occurring at lower elevations. Mire areas of larger than 10,000km² have been reported from Uganda.
